I'm in the process of looking to buy a 2006/7 V8 Vantage and i just have a few questions as regards to colors.

which color combos should i avoid...i have been looking at a 2x grey/silver cars with red leather (which i do like).... is this ok to go for or is it one to avoid. i'm just thinking about down the line if i need to sell it. Should i just stick with black or blue leather?

your opinions would be really appreciated as it will be the 1st time i have ever spent this sort of money on a car and i want to make sure i make the right choice.

cheers...

For best re-sale there is no doubt that Black, Caspian Blue & Phantom Grey are the right choices, but with an Aston you can get away with some of the more flamboyant colours much more so than Pork for example! Red interior (unless its Iron Ore which is near Burgundy)will be harder to sell IMO, but then again you like it, so as always depends on who's out there looking when you come to sell!
Best of luck.

Buy whatever you like unless its spotted pink or suchlike smile ..its your car, you have to sit in it every day, worry about re-sale when the time comes. You will always sell the car, it may just take longer to find the right buyer with an unusual combo

the iron ore is much nicer than the chancellor red i reckon. titanium (bright silver) with iron ore is a nice contrast. Most popular spec seems to be meteroite (dark grey) with obsidian though i find it rather bland. According to an aston dealer i spoke to its the colour of the bond cars in one of the films.

im in japan at the moment and they love their white cars. saw a lovely db9 convertible and also a new jag xk both looked superb.

Don't rule out the Chancellor Red. I went for that with Black Cherry carpeting and it's got a really sumptuous feel to it when you're sat in there. Also went for different colour seats as having all one colour can be pretty overpowering, especially in something like red.

Just found an old pic. The ivory might not appeal to all but the red is certainly not "in your face" scarlet. smile

I know how you feel mate. I've been looking at buying a V8V for a while. You're right to be sensitive. I know of a car that traded last week - 08, 1200 miles, nice spec................wait for it...............£64k!! It's only crime, it was blue. Oh, and 18" wheels. Actually that is bad!

For me Onyx black is the best exterior colour but hard to keep clean. Silver is a bit millenium but looks great in the sun. Some of the greys look good but not exciting with the exception of the colour they call call Grigio Titanio. Interiors are more tricky! The silver stiching looks fantastic on black leather. Chancellor red looks good on silver cars (as in the brochure) sandstorm is lovely, iron ore and blue seem to be ones to avoid. Piano black dash - amazing, but probably shows the dust and anything with wood is a no no.
That's my twopenneth anyway. If it looks wrong it probably is wrong so pay accordingly, if it's a popular combo pay a bit more and expect to get that back in the end.

Colour - personal thing isn't it? my only suggestion would be that if you go for a black interior then try to get one with Tailors Grey headlining which lifts what can otherwise be a rather dark interior. Similarly, as someone has already said, grey (coarse) stitching subtly shows off the curves on the various surfaces, seats etc.
