From memory, I think the options are the same price, the base car has gone up £2K to £85K and you can get a sports pack (wheels n suspension) for £2.5K ...its in Autocar a few weeks back

I read the Autocar piece, it was pretty good.
I am particularly interested in the cost of each option (are they all unchanged), I have heard that Morning Frost White is no longer classified as a 'Match to Sample' colour and as such a £4K option, but now is classified as a 'DBS Special Colour' and has dropped to £2.5K.
Anyone know?

Let's get real

Blimey spending 2.5k on a paint colour, it is easy to get carried away with the options list, personally I am struggling with the price of options!

You need the sports pack if you want best "drivers car" & the standard wheels are frankly horrible, that's £2.5k.... £££££!!!! Then the crappy new Sat Nav system is required for re-sale, another £1750 £££££!! You need Xenons on a car this powerful, so that's another £495 ££££. Powerfold mirrors are also a must as the car is too wide for parking with them out.. another £295! Now we are up over £90k before we even sniff the nicer options like the upgraded stereo, Bluetooth (probably another essential at £495!), Cruise, memory seat etc!

At £85k the AMV8 does justify its price against the competition & I really do want one again, BUT but get up over 90k & it simply doesn't, all IMO of course!

I've said it before and I'll say it again (as some didn't believe my figs a month or so ago) - a nicely spec'd V8 gets close to £95k. A very well spec'd MK2 997S is £75k Yes I KNOW the Aston is in a different class looks wise (both inside and out) but is that worth +£20k? Particularly as it's probably still a shade behind in terms of it's chassis and definately in terms of performance. Or,to put it another way, is it worth the same as a lightly used F430?

Grant - you (and your wallet) listen to your Uncle Pugs and get a nearly new Roadster.

Yes I know, I'm still considering the Roadster option, but even though my "ultimate drivers car focus" is softening slightly with age I'm not sure a soft-top is me, particularly when the other half has one already!

As you know I didn't expect to enjoy the AMV8 as much as I did & now they have uprated the handling & power it really is a temptation, I agree the Porker is better value, but a change is as good as a rest, although I'm doing the Silverstone drive just to be sure!!

I know used 430's can now be had for around £95k, but they are at least three years old now, I know they have had awesome residuals to date, but bets are they will be £79k retail in another year, looking at 360 prices the only way is down now there are a good few out there! Plus much as I fancy owning at least one F car, I'm not keen on the image they carry!

Trust me, when you are behind the wheel of your Fezza you WILL NOT CARE about image! In any event I've only been aware of very positive reactions, people asking to be photographed with the car, thumbs up - particualrly if you cane it - etc etc. I was suprised by this but assure you it's the case. The depreciation thing doesn't stack up - you'll loose heavily on a £95k V8 anyway! I'd guess in the current climate you'll loose £10k the minute you sign on the dotted line? A 430 at £95k now was £119k before Christmas and I suspect it's onwards depreciation curve will now actually be slower than a new Vantage. Three years old? So what? You'll still be getting the current model, probably with less than 10k miles, and if you buy from a main dealer - who seem to be cheaper than private sellers at the moment! - you'll get a full Ferrari warranty plus things like tyre insurance, breakdown cover etc etc thrown in.
