Hi Guys

My driver seat is squeaking oh so annoyingly. Seems to be the part that touches the centre console although the seat has velvet on it. What can I put on my leather to stop squeeks please?

Also does anyone know where I can get hold of a Mercury Silver chip stick? Halfords have a large range but of course not for AM frown

Order it through your dealership Mark. Mine took a week or so but probably because it's an out of range colour.

Can't help with the seat, sorry.

AS STEVE SAYS YOUR LOCAL DEALER WILL BE ABLE TO SUPPLY THE TOUCH UP , THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY THOUGH IS THAT TOUCHING IN ON HIGH METALLIC CONTENT PAINTS CAN BE A PROBLEM . WHAT YOU CAN END UP WITH IS TOUCH IN'S THAT ARE VERY DARK IN RELATION TO THE ORIGINAL SHADE . TRY ONES IN MORE OBSCURE
PLACES FIRST TO SEE HOW IT TURNS OUT . REGARDING THE TRIM SQUEAK , AGAIN YOUR DEALER OR IF THAT FAILS , WORKS SERVICE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUPPLY SOME HIDE FOOD . CONNOLY USED TO HAVE A GREAT PRODUCT ? I BELIEVE BRIDGE OF WEIR HAVE THEIR OWN ALTERNATIVE ( CURRENT LEATHER SUPPLIER TO AML ).

Hide food would work. The well known trick is a touch of talcum powder (if it is leather-on-leather - not so sure of alcantara-on-leather) pushed down the offending gap with a brush. Make sure it is a tiny amount though...

I ordered my paint chip kit from paints4u. They supply separate paint and lacquer you can even get some primer for the deep chips. THe kit also has a piece of 2000 grit paper and rubbing compound to flat and level the chip after you have blobbed on the lacquer.

I suggest you obtain a sheet of 3000 grit paper as well - it will make it easier to buff up the area after flatting it down.

I think a detailingworld memeber posted up a good guide on how to do it. Well worth a look..

Also, theres an easy to use chip kit for front-ends that look like swiss cheese:
