I am on the cusp of buying my first Aston...I know reliability isn't the strongest with these "handmade" monsters...but here goes:

I have found a 2005/54 model (ordered May04 passed to sales Dec04 so an early model) that I quite fancy with very low miles (couple of thousand) and FAMSH.

This will be my only car, however, and I will rack up maybe 8,000 miles a year on it...and I plan to keep it for several years (bit obsessive about cars...when I get a good one I tend to keep it).

What is DB9 reliability like on the first models?

I've had a March 05 (for sale by the way...) from new. I had a Jun 04 before that. Done 25k miles across the two cars (17,500 on the current one). Both have been pretty good on the reliability front. There have been niggles but I am struggling to remember what they are. A ticking relay. Battery going flat due to door module fault. An oil leak found at service. Everything covered under warranty.

Probably worth getting the extended warranty (about a grand a year).
