Vantage Sportshift

I Have an 07' V8 Vantage sportshift, whilst in general I am very happy with the car and with the robotised gearbox, going from 1st to 2nd is difficult to get smooth. Does anyone else have the same experience and if so any tips for solving this.

What is the general consensus on the Sportshift

as u shift jst slightly lift your foot off the accelorator, flip the paddle and push down again instantly. You will feel the way the car does it and eventually feel it enough that it will become perfectly smooth

It is much smoother if you use first for literally just getting moving. You will not need to lift your foot off the gas. On my PDC I was told to feel as if I were just curling my toes!!

LGR - Don't quite get the "toes curl". Maybe mine curl in the wrong direction. Have been playing with shifts and quite frankly haven't got it smooth at all.

Have only just passed through first 1,000 miles [and the majority of that was on the M6 so not too many opportunities to exercise 1st - 2nd [contrary to popular belief ... ]. Maybe I just need more practice around the lift-off as this is where I've been concentrating to date.

However, just as an aside, I really don't like Drive. Maybe will give it another shot, however, my jerks and lurks resembeled more a 17 year old in his Mum's fiesta !

Pay for a PDC with Aston. The instructors are great and you will then get the best out of your car.
