I have 2000 miles on my MY08 V8V Manual transmission. I have never experienced what I am detailing prior to tonight. I have an incredibly hard time changing gears, up or down, when under load. By "under load" I mean if the RPM is above 3-4k RPM. When at idle, everything is fine. When driving in low/moderate speeds, I can change gears fine. This problem occurs only when changing gears under higher RPMs. I don't know what the problem can be. I haven't seen any signs of my clutch going bad, such as the "fishy" smell under normal driving or clutch slippage. Could I have a bad clutch that had gone unnoticed.
I also never feather my clutch.... I merely use it to change gear quickly or drive off quickly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Could be a synchromesh problem. It is hard to say without sitting in the car and driving it. It should not do that, but modern corvettes have 'slow' synchromeshes and a crunching/grinding sound can be heard when changing gears at higher rpm's/when gunning it.

Get it checked out asap.

Bad luck but it's a newish car under warranty so, not being funny, but I wouldn't spend a second on here discussing it - get it to your dealer pronto. Good luck.

Thanks guys for your feedback.
I promptly took it to the dealer on Tuesday and when the tech got the ok from Gaydon, he removed the clutch plate and said the "inner part" was bent or separated...can't remember his exact words. Nevertheless, the part is clearing Customs as we speak and should be installed and good to go tomorrow.
BTW, he did say that he has seen this on a couple of Vantages and just 10 days ago a bulletin was issued regarding this with VINs within a certain range. Apparently a bad design that has since been rectified
Quite coincidental that mine started acting up last week.
So, here are the symptoms in case anyone else is experiencing this:

1) The clutch works absolutely normal when changing gears under 2000 RPM.
2) Above 2000 RPM it becomes more difficult to upshift or downshift, more and more difficult as the RPM increases and at 5000 RPM it becomes IMPOSSIBLE
3) No grinding noise seen, just hard/impossible to change gears

Hope this helps
