A few Vanquish questions...
Discussion
Hello chaps
potential Vanquish owner here (non-S). I've scoured this forum and found some really helpful advice but I still have a few questions that I can't see answered elsewhere. Can anyone help with the following;
1. For say 5k miles per year what would one expect to pay for normal annual servicing
2. What does a clutch change cost
3. The period road tests suggest that the brakes are a weak spot. Hard to see why given the size of the discs & calipers. Can the situation be improved with a brake pad material upgrade?
Thanks in advance for any help with the above.
best

Hi --
I own a 2005 Vanquish S, love it and still think its the best looking and sounding car on the road (the Alfa 8C is the only current competition for looks in my mind)...
Anyway, that's the upside...
1. Servicing is prob steepest of any car... needs 6 monthly services, at 1250-1500 each if you use Works Service, prob a few hundred less from a main dealer
2. No idea on clutch costs. If you're getting a later non-S should be fine, and especially if you treat it right (into neutral at every stationary opportunity, second nature after a couple of days)
3. I have had engine coolant light on a few times -- factory seem unconcerned, told me to top up with water. Air con works pretty well, but not as sharp as a Porsche... still not bad. You'll need the window down at every accelerating opportunity anyway
Go for as late a model as you can, and try hard for an SDP version (upgraded brakes, suspension, wheels, steering) -- worth the difference I hear
Awesome car.
