Hi All

Does anyone have or heard a Larini exhaust on a V8 Vantage?

With the sports cats and rear box power is up a decent 58bhp to 438!!

Heard a Quick Silver zorst on a V8 but hardly sounded any different to standard.

Hi we have fitted and had both on the dyno, we also have a Larini sound clip available

The Larini sound and styling is much better, though with the rear box and cats it is loud ! (may be too loud for some)

Depends what you are looking for, sound, styling or performance.

Give us a call or drop us a mail if we can help at all or you would like some more info on what is available.

Hi Paramount

Thanks for the info.

Yes that's definately what I'm looking for.

I find the V8 too quiet below 4000rpm.

Do you know the dB of the Larini with the cats and rear box?

Cheaper option, pull fuse 22 in the boot fuse box...now she will be nice an loud below 4k.

The noise with the above exhausts is not only louder still, but nicer to boot.

Styling on the Larini isn't really to my tastes. Not that you see it that much.

There is no styling on the Tubi smile

I have a V8 Vantage, and have had the following work done:
Larini sports Cats (legal) & Back box and a chip upgrade. Rolling road showed 448BHP. The noise is fantastic with improved power through the rev range. Recently done some time testing with 0.4 gain 0-60 now 4.5 and a 1.2 off the 0-100. If you want a car that sounds unique from standard its a no brainer. Get it done it makes a very real differance.

I'm still doubtful about these increases. Did they dyno the car BEFORE the work was done and if so what was the reading? Near as dammit 70bhp increase (not far off 20%) from exhaust and chip? Blimey. I was told by Prodrive that loosing the cats - and remapping to suit - is worth just under 20bhp so can't see where the other 50bhp is coming from. Good luck to you if that's what you've got of course.smile

proof is in the pudding, I had the rear boxes done and a re-map first, that produced 36.8 BHP that took the car to 416.8 BHP. With the new cats on at 200 cell capacity added the rest up to 448BHP. It was put on a rolling road a paramount performance both before and after. To be honest with you I was surprised but pleased with the results. Obvously Prodrive are not going to endorse/promote anyone elses work.

On the road/track,stays with 911S -No problem. as a customer of larini and paramount I was extreamly pleased with the results, which are now not the best kept secret!!

If that all stacks up - as indeed it appears to do - then I'm not suprised that you're pleased! smile

The original post didn't mention a re-map, which is why I was so scathing about the 58hp gain claims, what has the rev limiter been increased to & where is peak power now delivered?

A fully TUV approved & checked sports exhaust with 100 cell racing cats on a more powerful 996TT only gains an officially tested 20-25BHP.

I'm also sceptical about rolling road claims, every one I have had done said "how good my car at the time was because it producing XYZ extra horse power" so much depends on the operators skill, conditions of each test & the equipment used.

Anyway claims aside if you are happy with the mods that is all that counts really, enjoy the beast, its a wonderful car!

Hi PP929

If you are looking for a nice increase in sound, and find the F22 a little lacking, either the Larini or Milltek system is a really nice option, the Larini is bright chrome and very eye catching, (makes you want to put a mirror on your garage floor) some people love that, for those who want something a little more OE in looks the new Milltek system may be the way to go. (others are available as well, call for details)

The systems on their own should deliver around 20bhp-22bhp, the cats will significantly increase this, as will a remap.

But you don’t have to go for all things at once, maybe start with a rear box, and a remap, and if this ticks all the boxes with sound and performance stop there, if you want a little more then go for the cats as an after thought.

Interestingly Milltek manufacture the new system in two sound levels of rear box, one for the standard cats and one for the racing cats, (their system is also a full cat back one, vs most which are just rear boxes) – hence the sound can be controlled you your suiting.

Drop us a mail if you would like any more info

Best wishes

Hi Paramount

Thank you very much for the info!

Sorry to be a dullard here but do the Larini sport cats have no effect on the noise, they just increase power?

Is it just purely the sports rear box that beefs up the noise?

Hi

Sorry should have been clearer

The sports rear boxes (which it’s the only one silencer on the AMV8) make a nice sound increase, deeper and sportier. (much better than F22)

However, when this is fitted in combination with the racing cats the sound level is significantly increased again, we see this with nearly all performance cats, of course some people love this, its very head turning, and sounds amazing.

However, to cater for all tastes Milltek can supply a choice of rear box:

1) A nice sporty loud one

2) A quieter one, for those fitting the cats but don’t want an increase in sound level in addition to that from the rear box.

Hope this is ok, if still unsure give us a call or mail us at censorednono

Best wishes

Paul

After doing a lot of homework on a new exhaust for my Aston DB9 Volante (BHp increase, sound, Price, customer liason etc)

I decided on a "Larini" exhaust, I am so glad I did,

After I expressed concern as to how the new back box would sound, Larini suggested I bring the car to them and they would fit one free of charge for me to try, I was amazed how much lighter the new box was, and it sounded beautiful, I was happy to pay.

As I was going on holiday for two weeks the next day, Larini suggested I leave my car with them as i lived locally, so they could prototype completely new centre section's and Cat section's, then on my return to use my car to road test the different configurations,

In the end i ended up with a silenced de cat, and a big bore centre section,

The car feels much more responsive, the sound is better again, and after taking it to Grange of Exeter, even they commented on how much more responsive and how fantastic the car sounded, and are going to contact Larini.

overall, i would definitely recommend "Larini" and am really happy with the end result!

Can anyone recommend a good company to re-map/chip my car please.

regards
