All,

Does the new V8 vantage have total closure as standard? Also, is it possible to open the windows by holding down the open button (or, similar)? I know there are two options for the vantage alarm (standard and upgrade) what are the differences?

The reason being I currently have quite a tight squeeze getting into and out of my car when it's in my small'ish garage. However, this is not a problem with the windows open.

If you mean will it shut the windows, no I don't believe it does.

And no, you can't open the windows from the alarm fob either.

They obviously used the trainee on the electronics of the car as some of the decisions are simply dumb smile

I think the "upgraded" alarm simply added sensors that could detect whether the car was being lifted onto a low loader etc.

Have you actually tried the car in the garage? The angle the doors open helps in tight spaces.

Thanks for the reply, not really what I wanted to hear mind you. In answer to your question I've not had a chance to try a car in the garage. But, If anyone in the Warwick area wants to do me a big favour? Otherwise I'll have to buy the car on condition that it fits when I get home. What do you think is the likelyhood of that happening?

You'd be better off befriending a local dealer and taking a test drive home. Put it in the garage et voila.

Update...I put down a deposit on a car this weekend subject to it fitting in my garage. I tried it in the Garage this lunch-time and it fitswoohoo. Only just though.

Roll on the 20th of March when I hopefully take delivery of an Onyx Black 07 spec V8 Vantage. Now how do I change my Pistonheads name...scratchchin

P.S. The Garage is 214cm across the door and a little wider inside.

Blimey that is tight! I thought I was squeezing mine in at 220cm across the door and 270cm inside, which I find just about ok for regular use.

What sort of garage door have you got? I swapped my canopy door for a sectional one instead, which doesn't need a door frame or the associated ironmongery that stuck out even further. That increased the width by 20cm+, otherwise I'd have had almost no chance of squeezing it in.

Yep, I'll be holding my breath for the first few attempts. It's an up 'n' under with wooden frame plus brick pillars. Once you are in I think it's 245cm or something like that. Only eight days to go...woohoo

Will be quite tight I reckon. Mine's similar to Ian's only a bit narrower once in.

I'm going to be getting a roller garage door. Don't like the look as much as a wooden or up and over etc, but give more width, are arguably more secure and allow me to park cars up close and still open it.

Getting a car lift too, so I can put 2 cars in a single garage smile

Damn, how do you guys manage?! I imagine you lot live in London then? I thought a 6m wide garage was a bit small... as it is I can only just open the doors to a realistically passable point...
