Could anyone share their front end respray experiences on an AMV8.
In particular the dealer vs aston works dilemma, specific price comparisons, and the final figure.

I need to get it done but am not convinced about my local dealer's skills.
Any advice appreciated!

Works Service did a total front end respray including bonnet and it was fantastic. Took a bit of time thoughhad car for 3 weeks but collected it on low loader and returned in immaculate condition. Dealer did some paint work prior to this and the standard was very poor in comparison.

I would recommend these guys as being at least as equal to Works Service (if not maybe a teeny bit better. Maybe get a quote from both? If you don't think your local dealer is up to it, don't use them - end of.

Remember the car comes with a paint and body warranty which you may invalidate if you have repairs carried out by an unauthorised repairer.

ironic since it's highly likely the quality of the 3rd party work may well be better than approved dealers. Certainly my experience on other marques. I also spoke to AM customer services yesterday and, whilst they didnt say it openly, the guy clearly had his reservations about some of the dealers. This may have been a ploy to get me to AM WS though.

Are we saying these cars are prone to bonnet chips (as I discovered to my cost with the old model XK's)?

I have been quoted £ 1.400 for a front spoiler re-spray from Works Service. Will collect it after 4 weeks tomorrow so will post the results.

Picked up the car last Friday. It looks and feels "as new". Tungsten is a tricky color to blend in but the paintshop at Works Service made a great job. It took 4 weeks but this was not due to the re-spray but rather a faulty coolant hose that had to be re-commissioned as it was not in stock and had been reworked in later DB9s.

I'm pleased they did a good job on your car.
I think mine will be heading that way soon.
