Never having to park my car in the street I'd gotten used to not having to worry about kerbed rims. However, this morning I reverse the V8 out of my drive only to find that space outside is a little tight. Full lock, I turn to pull away, no way I'm going to catch that kerb, ooops, b*gger it, don't like the sound of that.

Seems I must have managed to just get half an inch of tyre on the kerb and then the whole thing slipped off as I rolled gently forward. Looks like I only managed to do about 40% of the circumference though. Aaaarghh. banghead

So can anyone tell me, when they refurb the alloys can they get them perfect, or does it look like they've been touched up ? I think the damage is reasonably superficial, i.e. not deep gouges so much as surface scuffing.

That's good to hear. It's due for service if four weeks, think I'll get them to sort it out at the dealership when it's in.

Let's get real

The colour will not be the problem. It is the 'annodised' finish that you will not be able to replicate.

I'v had one done that was well caught, about 1/3 of the wheel and well pleased with the result! The guy said it's the polished rims that cause the problems.
