I got to spend last weekend with quite a few fellow Aston Martin owners helping Aston Martin Racing and Intercontinental Hotels celebrate the victory at Le Mans and the opening of the new Intercontinental Dubai Festival City. It was an amazing weekend, and quite an experience to spend several days with the Le Mans winning DBR9 #009 winning crew including drivers.
Intercontinental Hotels went all-out to promote their association with Aston Martin Racing, hosting some incredible events for the team and Aston owners in the country. In exchange they got quite a bit of publicity, as well as some genuine DBR9 skid marks on the driveway of their new flagship property!

Le Mans winning DBR9 at the Dubai Autodrome. The car was fitted with a passenger seat in order to give journalists and invited guests the opportunity to experience GT1 racing.

The convoy getting ready to leave Abu Dhabi for Al Ain on the last day of the weekend. The skid marks from the DBR9 which performed several mock pit stops in the hotel drive way are still clearly visible.
16 Aston Martins on top of Jebel Hafeet, one the tallest mountains in the UAE just outside the city of Al Ain. The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road extends for 7.3 mi (11.7 km) up the mountain, rising 4000 ft (1219 m). With 21 corners and three lanes (two climbing and one descending), the immaculate road was called the greatest driving road in the world by Edmunds.com. The road scales the mountain and ends at a parking lot with only a hotel and a palace belonging to the country's rulers.
