Does anybody know how I might be able to tweak some extra power from my AMV8? I believe that an ECU upgrade is only available as a very expensive option from Prodrive!

change exhaust and change the airboxes for a couple of ITG carbon jobbies - on the std ECU it will give you another 10bhp or so ...but to be honest, short of dropping a supercharger on there, you are not going to notice it in the real world im afraid ....im leaving mine as is, and will wait for the RS version wink

Can you share a little more info on this? I've a letter of intent in with my local dealer for the so-called RS (is this a term dealers recognise?) - keen to know when you think things will start moving

I've quietly/unofficially been told that there's a Siemens/Bosch trained chap doing direct ECU programming (Level 5 or some such gumpf) on the AM ECU which is able to improve the performance, particularly the torque hole below 4000rpm that we get here. Apparently Aston have mapped SA cars very pessimistically in case of bad fuel quality...

Thanks for that. Don't suppose you have any idea how I'd find this chap?

Blimey! I know that we've all been waiting for a faster Vantage, but I was expecting maybe 500bhp from a bit of forced induction, not 600bhp from a V12! I never thought I'd say this, but that's almost overkill.

The consensus seems to be that it will be more than the DBS!

Hopefully the customer response that they get will convince them to lower it somewhat. Or that there's a market for an intermediate model.
