How easy/hard is it getting a 7 year old and a 2 year old in to the back of a DB9. Has anyone sucessfully used a car seat in one? How does it compare to being in the back of a 911 (997)?

My Wife is waiting to take delivery of hers and I think she's in trouble. She planning to use it on School runs but room in the back is no where near as useful as a 997.....or even a 993 come to that.

They'll manage if the front seat is forward as far as possible.

Depending on their age, they will kick seven bells out of the front seat backs, leaving wet/muddy foot marks all over the leather and getting kids in and out of a long door coupe is a pain in the neck.

Good luck or use a four door!

What if it's not to be used as a daily runner and only on the occaisonal weekend? Sounds like its a big ask?

Some years ago, I bought a Recaro child seat for the back of my Cerbera - it was a really narrow child seat, so it fitted ok. Problem comes with the seat behind the driver as typically the front seat will be pushed quite far back, but again it could be possible I would think.

If its anything like the Vanquish, you can fit kids in the back if the front seats are moved far forward. If not, they fit fine as long as they take their shoes off and sit cross legged.

I've had no issue with a car seat fitting properly, subject to the previous limitations

Good luck

Depends on how big the driver is. I'm roughly 6'2"/6'3" and a 4 year old in the back of a Vanquish had me absolutely squashed against the steering wheel - same in a DB9 too.

Remember that you're supposed to use booster seats too - which puts their little legs straight out forward.

Apart from an emergency 10 minute ride, I wouldn't do it, too uncomfortable. If you and the Mrs are under 6' it will be easier.

Agree with NDA. Being 6'4" I pre-ordered early and then drove the DB9 for size and in a reasonably comfortable driving position my seat was 2 inches away from the rear seats. One of the main reasons why I cancelled the order and opted for the AMV8 (don't regret it either!)

I have a Bentley GTC. Absolutely no problem in the back for two adults. Children are an easy fit.

I took my 12-year old son and two of his rather tall mates to school in a DB9 last month. Twice.

Squashed or not, they couldn't think of a finer way to travel.

Probably would have thought the same if I was 12 - I'd even sit on the roof smile

I currently have a new 997, but I have been looking at getting a DB9 Sport Pack Manual as my next car. At the moment I have a 3 year old and a 9 month baby and they both fit in the back of the Porker just fine. I tried my oldest in the back of a DB9 at my local (70 miles away!) dealer and they were able to fit in behind the drivers seat set to my preferred driving position, granted that was without a booster seat though.

I will have to arrange a test drive with the kids and car seats.
