but need some advice. Im looking to purchase one within next few weeks and as its my first sports car im unsure about certain things.

Looking at the market there seems to be quite a few avaiable, so i am looking at used one ideally around mid to early 60's price range. Because i might be moving abroad august 2008, looking to keep the car for around 6 months.

Questions i have are:
1) Buy private or dealer, keeping in mind i want to keep depreciation low as possible
2) If buying private, beside HPI what other checks do i need carry out? is a 2007 model better then a 2006?
3) How much more do you think the price on the 2006/7 will fall within next 6 months.

Basically this is my first experience with a car of this nature so i rather have a pleasent experience and not something that puts me off cars like this for life.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, resulting in some pics of the new baby for all to see on PH!

Don't buy an AMV8 expecting low depreciation, but you shouldn't loose your shirt unless you are going to pile lots of miles on the car!

I would have thought £65k will get you into a nice 55 plate late 05 or early 06,maybe an 06 plate! From what I see private sales are all near-ish to dealer price in the main, so either you need to negotiate hard or take the easy route with peace of mind & do a used search on the Aston website! Personally I would buy my Aston from a main dealer, they seem (in the main)a great bunch & will negotiate on price!
