Ok i seem to have four dents in total, two on either side of the boot lid, perfectly symetrical.

The dents have come from the inside of the boot, possibly from something within the boot lining. I've never had anything in the boot other than my gym kit and a briefcase. So question is has anyone encountered similar problem on their v8 vantage? Pretty sure this is a mfrs defect of some kind.

Known fault. There is a paintless solution. Speak to your dealer. More on the AMOC Forum.

IIRC, it is that the supporting struts cause the dents. Heat had something to do with it. Haven't really paid attention (I have a DB9) but there were loads of posts on this over at AMOC.

Thank you, I'll contact my dealer tomorrow and see what they say.

My Vantage had the same problem, a pair of little bumps on the rear lid seen in certain light. Totally symmetrical about the centre line of the car. I pointed it out to the dealer and he said it was the first he had seen and a one off ...so I showed him the same on his showroom car and two others on his forecourt.! Have seen other cars on my travels with the same problem since. The dealer fixed it without complaint under warranty, repainted the rear lid at their bodyshop. Seems to be on 2006 cars. At the time it was assumed factory tooling or automated handling was the cause. My car was delivered like it. Also on the rear bumper about 20mm above number plate relief and about 440mm centres symmetrical about centre of car two small impressions from new, and a third on the centreline. Didn't bother having those fixed since barely noticeable until your best mate points them out!, again seen others with same.
