Whipped out the famous fuse at the weekend, and after the initial reactions

Son grinned and thought it was awesome biggrin
Wife turned nose up and told me to grow up rolleyes
Dogs ran back in the house

I'm still not sure it suits the car. Sat at the lights at one of those three lanes into two intersections today and so moved away sharpish to avoid complications. With the window slightly lowered for max hearing advantage it sounded like a scene from Gone in 60 seconds. I did grin a little but felt a bit boy racer-like.

In short, not convinced at the moment that I'll leave it out. There was something about waiting for the 4k barrier and then hearing the roar.

There is an alternative. Get Aston Works Service at Newport Pagnell to fit a switch, quoted £300, and that way you get to choose depending on your mood. Mine is in at the moment and I'm due to pick it up in the next week.

Trouble with the 4000 rpm method is that you'll start to drive like a hooligan instead of sound like one if you get my point hehe

I know exactly what you mean, I was not convinced at first, in fact it took me about 3 months to finally leave it out full time. Now I would never go back, I don't like showing off (like the bald bloke in his 360 Spider in Winchester High Street in Sunday) and don't really care what others think, but I enjoy the sound and that is all that matters. (oh and the wife finds it embarrassing!)

Not sure how the car suddenly blurting out at 4k revs is any less boy racerish. Sounds even more so to me (almost like the driver's flicking something to make it happen - same applies to Capristo equipped 355s).

Fortunately my other half likes it. She even preferred the Tubi equipped car she heard over a "no fuse 22" car. Must have been the uncorked, Tubi'd 355 setting the tone earlier and the Aston being substantially quieter than that smile

Can't put my finger on it but when the fuse is in the engine builds to a crescendo and announces it's come to work. With it out it sounds a bit like it's trying all the time.

I'm persevering with it (or shoudl I say without it) - no complaining mail in my letterbox yet regarding waking up the neighbourhood at 5am. And I have to admit it does bring a bit of a smile.

Get the switch fitted. Much nicer for your neighbours when you have an early or late car journey and you can run it loud when the mood strikes without faffing around with the fusebox.
