Roadster - PAD Switch. Why Remove It on 2008 Models?

Do you only need to disable it with a child seat (i.e. for really little nippers)?

Perhaps they felt that hardly any people would carry such little kids in an open car, and that there wouldn't be enough space for the other obligatory paraphernalia too?

In danger of showing myself up as an irresponsible daddy but I thought all kids up to roughly 8 years of age have to sit in a child seat and that air bags have to be disabled if children housed in such a seat. If too small and the worst happens they could slip under the normal seat belt

Obviously I don't know if this applies to your particular car or not, but I believe it has always been the case with the Vantage that the airbag disable button is incompatible with the height adjustable passenger seat option. i.e. if you order that option the button is removed.

Not having kids it has never been an issue for me , however I thought you only disabled passenger airbags when using rear facing child "seats" and that if strapped in either forward facing or with booster seats then there was no benefit to turning off ??

Correct on my 07 coupe come to think of it. Think you may have hit the nail on the head.

Child seats needed up to 11 years old and/or a certain height, IIRC.

Air bags off for rear facing child seats, not sure about front facing ??
