Saw a DB9 today and remembered what a great looking car it is. IMHO its propotions are better than those of the V8. Quick scan on Autotrader brought up many 2004 cars around £75K, Is this a good time to buy and not lose too much? How much more are they likely to drop? Will V8 prices pull them down further? Questions, questions!
I sort of think that V8 prices either help the DB9 or are irrelevant - in that you walk onto the forecourt and see that you can buy a used DB9 for the price of a new AMV8 and grab the DB9, or you would never consider an AMV8 in which case you don't care. DB9 prices however are going down. Not badly, but they will depreciate as much as a Porker or Fezza. If you are worried about resale then avoid any exotic.
And to those aboput to leap in and praise the 430 price, I think that it will start to depreciate at the same rate as the 360 did once supplies free up.

Just read the readers reviews about the DB9 on What Car? - OMG!! Cant Aston Martin make a £100k which doesnt have constant faults? Thats put me right off - must stick with the Germans until they get their act sorted.
I can't believe you've trawled through that dross on the what car site - a lot the crap you are reading on there is ill-educated spam!!Edited by ufoufo on Friday 20th July 01:57

I wasted 4 or 5 years before buying a top line car simply because I paid too much heed to non-owners and opinions from people who knew nowt.
V8 and DB9 are quite different propositions IMO.
If you want a 2 seater that's small and really chuckable, but that can cope well as a mini-GT, the V8's the one.
If you want a 2+2 that's a good bit bigger, still chuckable but much more of a GT, the DB9s the one.
If you don't know what you want, it might be better to try a couple out but really, really think about what you really want first as you'll be spunking a fair chunk of cash and they will all depreciate!
