My car has 1500 miles on the clock and gets driven maybe every 3 days for farily short domestic runs

Battery died the other day and car had to be recovered

garage said- letting it stand caused battery to drain- how often should it be driven to avoid this happening again- do i need more runs- or longer runs-confused

also car is kept on my drive so i cant use batter conditioner as it needs a pwer source i presume

When the AA etc jump your car they suggest using it immediately for a good 20min run at load (certainly more than idle revs). Takes a while for the battery to charge fully.

How long are your runs, and what sort of driving? Very short ones are likely to be worse for the car in many ways than leaving it standing...
