hi, car IS running perfect- and sounds as it should, however i parked the car- when i started it again the ''check engine warning light appeared''- Apart from the obvious theres a prob with the engine management system, can this light just appear?, Can i clear it- as its running perfect and dont understand why its just appeared-

This has happened to me - speaking to my local specialist, it is a well known and common problem on the DB7. It is caused by the ECU registering a fault and can be caused from anything as a hiccup in the fuel system to a pop or bang in the exhaust system. As long as the car is still running ok it isn't something to worry about unduly. Red lights are the ones to worry about!

As far as clearing it, the ECU needs connecting to a laptop by a dealer or specialist, as far as I know.

Hope this helps,

WD.

Try disconnecting the battery overnight. When reconnected if there is no permanent fault the light should go out. This worked for me.

Check the AMOC site - lots of good info. Could be a plug going. Also the coils go (it's best to replace all 12, if it is a Vantage, at the same time).

you can reset the light by turning th ignition on/off 30 times

Could also be due to a drop in voltage when the car was started, either from a failing battery or low charge if left for a while.

Sadly, this doesn't seem to work on the V12s.

Bugger.

Hi, I appear to be having a simmilar issue with my car. It's an '03 DB7 Vantage Volante. The 'Check Engine' light came on a couple of days ago but the car is running as smoothly as ever and all fluid levels are fine.

Any clues as to what may clear the light on a V12?

Thanks in advance
