Well you certainly have the luck of the devil, it rains solidly for ever, you take delivery of your Roadster & its the best weekends weather for months!

So when did you get it?

How is it?

Where are the pictures?

I suppose you are driving up & down a tunnel somewhere, or working on the white eyed Lobster look wink!

Long, tedious and not a little annoying story mate - which you'll be pleased to hear I'm not going to bore you with - but the upshot is I'm now getting it next week! And I'd got the baseball cap, suntan lotion etc. at the ready too - doh! Consoled myself with a visit to Maranello, Egham yesterday. Hells teeth - an F430 for only around £20k more than the Roadster?! - they look like quite a safe place for your money too at the mo. No,I mustn't! Spent a few days this week in a V8 Coupe as preparation for the big event........hmmm.

One plus - computer literate young nephew spending time with us next week (showing me round the golf course - little bugger plays off 5!) so pics. may well get posted promptly without having to call on your good services!

Someone is not happy with theirs already....yum yum...love the silver with black wheels.... I still prefer the coupe tho (well I am biased) but the noise thing would be a blast in the roadster...

F430!!!!!!!!! My first Fezza. It was a sort of impulse buy - a very very good deal came along that I couldn't ignore. I'm afraid it makes the recently departed GT3 seem very ordinary . It's simply amazing - even at slow speeds. I can't believe the noise is legal tbo! Believe me AMV8 and GT3 are QUIET in comparison. Passing your way after collecting the Roadster on Friday - I'll ping you an e.mail in case you're around.

Blimey you don't do things by half, an F430 eh, fabulous beast,it should make the GT3 feel ordinary for 45k-ish more new!!! Mind you on the "special" stakes the Ferrari wins hands down. Driving report please I'll look out for it in the Ferrari section!

Congrats, you will be needing a bigger garage!

P.S. You'll have to let me know what a very very good deal is on a 430, even the best I've seen are still over 100k.

Yep, as ever, you describe it better than me. Much MUCH more special than the GT3 but of course nothing would actually make a 997GT3 feel 'ordinary'. I'd say yes easily £50k more special though. I'll try to get combined pics. up soon. You know me - believe me it was a good deal!

Hay Pugsey,

Im following in you foot steps(again) but i have to disagree with you about the F430 being 50k better then the 997 GT3.

I drove 2, 2 weeks ago an F1 and man back to back. Yes its great to look at but didnt think it was as responsive as the 3. I felt like the f430 was merely a show off toy and not really capable. The other thing putting me off about the F430 coupe was that i just didnt think it was even better than the 3 let alone 30k more expensive. Saying that im still selling my 3 and going to buy a spider but i stand by that this is because iv never had a Ferrari and still think the 3 is a lot better value for money. Im not using the 3 and the Ferrari has a lot more sense of occasion for the little use its going to get.

Did you buy from Maranello as i read you were there the other day?

Edited to add, you sure about the noise? I think the 3(sport on) was a lot nicer and true then the F430..... God i dont know why im contemplating one! hehe

Fantastic! Full impressions on BOTH, please biggrin I'm also a closet F430 fan, and if they were actually available without a ludicrous waiting list measured in years in this country I'd have one too!

They are. Phone around some dealers and see what they have (or call Elms and see what they have).

The S (for Scuderia) version has just been released formally today too.

GT3 will be the most focussed drive of the 3 cars (V8, GT3 and (std) F430). But few things have the sense of occasion of an F-car.

50k is, however, an awful lot of money...

bund - parking'll be a bit trickier for you with the fat arse on the F430 I would think!

Bund why aren't you using the GT3? I use mine every day, no problem!

P>S> Pugs has been without his GT3 for months, he's forgotten how good it sounds & drives!!!!!

Luckily the photos is deceiving, i have about 4 foot from the wall once i back the car on then move it closer to the front wall. Width shouldn't be a problem and as the F430 is a lot higher at the front then the 3 so i will be able to drive straight onto it instead of doing a 3 point turn in a narrow one way street. I think the F is 2 inches longer then the 3.

Grant,

I love driving the car but the buckets are not a favourite of my g/f plus like i say i have to do a 3 point turn in a narrow one way street to get it on/off my drive. If i ever say to my g/f shall we take the white car she replies why whats wrong with rr? She loves the F car and she even wants a spider with me wanting the coupe.

What does me about these f cars is there is a 10/15k spread between a silver and black car of the same year same mileage(both Ferrari dealers). I want black but cant see why there is that much difference. If my loss is the same over the year id take the black car but cant see it myself.

That is why I went for standard sports seats & CG-lock, it makes the car so much easier to use daily as does the lack of scaffolding in the rear, but the drving experience is still as good!

Having said this my boss (read Mrs) prefered the AMV8 she loved its looks & image & thinks the GT3 is ott & far too fast to quote her words "terrifying"!
