bbep of alarm very noisy on fob boot opening

hi, just recently purchased a vantage volante and I feel the noise made when I open the boot using the remote is too noisy! this is going from alarm disabled to boot open. can the bleep be reduced in volume or disabled and is this something that will require a visit to a dealership

A dealer can certainly reprogramme the alarm to disable the "beep" (I asked but never got round to doing it). Don't know how you can do it yourself.

Editted to add: It is probably worth asking on the AMOC forum, as that has very large DB7 contingent.

There was a discussion around reprogramming the key fob using numerous button presses. Functions could be reassigned and the bleeping volume lowered, IIRC. A dealer visit wasn't required, you can do it yourself if you can find the keypress sequences. There aren't any in my owners manual and I believe the amoc discussion was on the old board before it was hacked. As AZ says, might be worth asking on that board.
