what would i expect to pay for a 10K service? I'm being told a shade under 1K which seems to be a bit on the high side to me.

IIRC I was told they'd be 6-800. Not sure if that included VAT.

Mine was free - but then they did decide to replace the engine.

650 - 700 quid, yeap that's what I was expecting - think me needs to find out where the other 300 quid is going - perhaps reinserting fuse 22 whistle

Give Works Service a call and then you can get your dealer to go down to their price.

Mine was going to be £850 incl VAT, but agreed an offset against warranty work being done at the same time so parted with £398 incl VAT......engine oil was £153 of that however, was told I could supply my own to their spec (Castrol RS 10-60) but didn't have time to source it...so paid the price.

They do.

Don't know costs though, and can't recall if it's up to 8yrs old or 15yrs. Think it's 8.

I think that you can do it for seven years from the original warranty (i.e. till the car is ten). I think it is £2000 for two years and the car needs to be inspected (though if it is still in warranty, this might be waived). There are limits on individual claims and wear and tear items are excluded.
