Not a bad bash. Combined event with the Bentley Boys held at the above golf club, lovely location, shame nobody could find it! It was almost amusing watching a convoy of interesting can expensive motors going up and down a little country lane, totally lost looking for this place!

Drove a Vantage drop top and a normal DB9. Fairly impressed with the V8 droptop, I dont think the gearchange is as smooth as it is in the Vanq and S, the faster shifting just makes it more jerky to me. It rides well, I held a comfortable conversation with the guy in the passenger next to me at speed and it is a comfy place to be. My only complaint would be that I personally found it fairly slow. It wasnt really, but Id have liked to feel it faster. Yes, yes I know, Ive had a Sagaris, so most things feel slower, but that was just my observation.

I asked for a blat in a 9 because Ive got my name down for a DBS and thought Id have a look at the base package for the car. Its a lovely place the 9 and God I love that engine. The whole package just feels more mature and grown up than the V8, very much reminds me of a slightly detuned Vanq. Cant wait for the DBS smile

They did a decent spot of lunch also and I think the 'Grale got nearly as much attention in the car park smile

Did this one with them last year. As you say, a nice outing. At the time I'd just ordered my V8V so was a little scared I was going to really like the DB9's when I got in. But I actually still preferred the baby - found the DB9 felt a big car to handle compared to the compact Vantage. But the sound of the V12 up Wrotham Hill, on the power, was a joy. One thing I distinctly recall was sitting at traffic lights with the top down in the DB9, and boy do they chuck out some heat ! It was like opening the oven door

Does this say something about the quality of Aston Sat Nav?

PS Was that the Holy 'Grale?

Did they do their normal trick of glad handing the potential new customers and ignoring the existing loyal ones ?

Dont know. They mostly left us alone in the lounge of the club house when you were waiting for your test drive and I was more than happy with that arrangement. I could read the paper, drink my tea, enjyo lunch and do a spot of work, with a decent view in reasonable piece and quiet!

Seem to recall they were pretty much the same to all attendees. I certainly didn't feel unwelcome, but of course I hadn't yet taken delivery. Had to beat the Jaeger Le Coultre guy off with a stick. He seemed to think it would be a great idea to buy Mrs GR1FF a new watch as I was getting a new car - trouble is their watches cost about the same as a new car !
