Hiccuping exhuast note ?

I have a DB7 Vantage Volante Touchtronic and would like to get a better exhuast note when I next replace the system. I was told by the supplying dealer, though, that the Sports boxes that will do what I want do not sound any good on automatic cars due to the "hiccups" in the exhuast note caused by the auto box making it's changes. Can anyone verify or deny this, please ?

I had a TT Vantage that I put a sports exhaust on. The slurring of engine revs as the 'box changed gear didn't annoy me - overall, I loved it. YMMV.

Thanks for your reply. I can think of no reason why things should be any different between the Vantage auto car's sports box sound and that of any DB7 Vantage auto's sports box note, so I guess that it'll be a "sound" idea to fit one to a DB7 !

Take a look at the Quicksilver system as well. I have one on my i6 auto, it's a big improvement with the only downside being the temptation to pop it into neutral and rev the engine just to hear the sound.

my Vantage coupe automatic has a sports system and is just noisy enough .Hiccups? bo**ocks!

Hello John,

From what you say, I suspect that my exhuast will also sound fine, once, that is, I have summoned up the nerve to give the car some serious wellie !

Are you at the same premises in HH still ?
