I guess with the comments regarding the Prodrive "upgrades" this may not be too well received here smile

However, coming from an F-car (where their products are pretty much an essential purchase - well, either theirs or one other competitor's), the importer of Tubi for the UK (Scuderia Systems) asked if I wanted to hear Tubi's latest product - yup, one for a V8.

I was a little sceptical that the sound could be improved, but went along for a listen anyway (they made my 355 sound truly epic. And any excuse to kick tyres should always be taken in my book).

Verdict - I think it has a lot of promise (the one I've heard doesn't have too many miles on it, but has apparently mellowed already to when first installed). It's not as night and day as the 355 application, but you can tell the difference over standard, and it definitely makes you smile when you hear it!

The exhaust has no valves, so is more comparable to a std car that's been decorked.

Noise levels are increased (not uncomfortably so), but the note of the car did seem to be much, much better defined and it sounded truly amazing following it, with some lovely burbling on the overrun.

Biggest surprise was when they showed me the difference in size of the two units (standard and Tubi). Needed a picture to be believed:

I reckon there must be a minimum of 10kg difference in weight between the systems (possibly double that). You wouldn't guess the difference in size from the volume change either.

They've not mentioned any potential performance gains - they're doubtful it'll add any power, but the weight saving is worth having I would think. Think they're looking at figures, soundclips etc in the very near future.

Wouldn't surprise me to see lots more aftermarket bits turning up for these cars. And if the quality of the products is like this (never ceases to amaze me how poor the build quality is on standard exhausts), I reckon that has to be a good thing.

PS No links to the company other than very happy that they sorted my 355 and always interested in making noise smile

We thought about doing something for Astons and the AMV8, but figured most owners were probably happy enough with the fuse 22 option. Im a little suprised Tubi have spent money on this market, unless of course they havent actually spent that much and just adopted a different design smile

Now a Vanquish, *that* Id love to have my guy do an exhaust for, that glorious V12 de-corked is the kind of noise I live for. But then Im a sad car geek.

1,350+VAT I'm told. So around 1,600GBP.

Broadly similar to pricing (and what you get!) on F-cars. Maybe a little cheaper.

Sorry Pugs, I run my own bespoke engineering outfit. I dont often/usually mention it on the Aston forum because we are TVR based and Aston wise, Im on here 99% of the time as just a lover of the marque. My business partner however, is one of the top exhaust guys in the country, so this topic pricked my ears, but as I said from all the talk on here I just presumed everybody was happy with the fuse 22 option really!

Cheers! I'm more a softly, softly, softly oh here comes 4000rpm Blaaaaaaaaah!!!! man myself although I can see the uncorking attraction and I like the idea of anything that is smaller, neater and lighter. Talking of which and drifting gently off topic, perhaps via your exhuast guy you could recommend someone who could polish the exhuast system on my R400 when I've taken delivery next month? IMO they always look a bit scruffy as supplied by Caterham, even on a new car.
