Are ASTON and CATERHAM owners the most Civilised PHers?
Discussion
Owning - and having an interest in - a variety of cars, I tend to post all over the PHs site (too much to be healthy some would say!) and I must say that I've found the above to be true. The Porsche forum can be particularly 'stroppy' environment quite regularly as can others, and now, following what I thought was a very reasonable post on the French Bread forum under the topic 'Running costs of a V6 Clio' I've just come in for a very (IMO) unreasonable savaging. Thank goodness for our little havens of reason, good sense and friendly debate.

I have found, time and time again, that many owners bitterly resent any criticisms made about their cars, their clubs, their websites etc, etc, etc ; whereas , for me, I see forums such as this and club meetings etc., as an opportunity to air ANY matter relating to the matter of cars - either good or bad ! I don't know why so many others take negative comments so personally, since few cars, clubs and wbsites etc. are so bad as to have the bad outweigh the good, but nevertheless, unless you want to wind being slagged off, banned or ostracised, it does pay to keep schtum unless you have anything but praise to throw at 'em !

No, I would say that would be the Jaguar forum, we're good chaps.
Nonsense. Aston men are chaps. Jag drivers are Cads...
I'm getting a V8Roaster shortly - I imagine that's leaning towards Caddish though? I'll have to choose my string backs and dickie bow most carefully as they'll be more on view than they were in the Coupe.

Pugs I hate to say this, but when the French don't appear to like the English & allegedly refuse to buy anything British at all (bar the odd horse!!!)anyone that buys a French car through choice does rather leave themselves open to a good verbal savaging..... I mean why would you????!The sooner you are back in your German made English Aston the better for all I say, at least the Germans like us a bit !

Sorry to rain on your parade.
Im an Aston owner and Im not civilised
Ah but you are really a Pork owner in waiting, so it doesn't really count, you just can't decide which 997TT to buy yet!Im an Aston owner and Im not civilised
Maybe its time to see the light, save some dosh & buy a 997GT3 instead of a Turbo!
Folk, in my experience, who drive TVR's and Caterhams are generally 'enthusiasts'. I've never had either marque up my botty and driving like a twot - they are more likely to give you a cheery thumbs up if you're driving something special. Some of my best (i.e. safe, respectful and fast) hoons have been with owners of both.
Aston owners are probably largely enthusiasts - Astons are not the fastest, but you feel you're driving a little piece of heritage somehow. Plus, we all grew up watching 007.
