Just about to have 12 month service on the AMV8 Vantage - am going to ask for 'thinner' oil in the box, mud flaps on the front wheels (and a few minor gripes fixed). Is there anything else out there that has come on since I bought and I could get upgraded (especially on warranty!).

TIA

Steve

Auto-fold mirrors on locking with the fob?

I believe the gear linkage itself can be reworked too (in addition to the oil change.

And while you're there, can you ask them how much to sort iPod connectivity and changing the arm rest to a cubby (I believe these should be retrofitable, but doubt they'll be ready yet ).

If you wait a week or two, you might want to ask them for the Prodrive engine bits too

Yes yes

The linkage is the most effective part of the change.

(I've said it in many previous threads)

Mines just been in to Stratstones, Amersham. They had it for four days and did the service well as far as I know, £753. I didn't have the stoneguards in the end because I really didn't like the look of them, spoilt the lines IMO, I may reconsider though if I get any more stone chips on the rear arches! They didn't fix the slightly sticking drivers window (when you pull the door handle to open) or the sqeaking brakes. I asked for the gearbox oil (yet again) and they wouldn't put it in (yet again), stating it's not yet fully developed by the factory. I didn't know anything about the auto-folding mirrors though, is that possible on '06 cars?

I've also noticed a paint blister directly underneath the nearside door handle so now it's got to go in to have the whole nearside painted, great.

They are bullshiting about the oil.

I got the oil changed for the thinner stuff and the linkage changed and it made the gearshift a whole lot better.

I also seem to remember Mikial saying something about an ECU software update, may be imagining it, I'm sure he will be along shortly, its certainly about time they were able to update the Sat Nav software as well, mine was crap, worth asking if they have an update yet, just a thought!

With the gearbox oil, my dealer also said no, but I phoned Aston HQ direct & they gave the dealer the ok, I believe it needs sanctioning by HQ to be covered by warranty, hope that helps.
Cheers.

The oil/linkage fix is definitely on general release. I've seen the technical bulletin in the dealership.

please remember that dealerships can only do what Aston Martin tell them they can do .... if they change oil or make alterations etc without Aston approval, it invalidates YOUR warrenty ... so insist at your own risk .... and by the way the oil linkage is approved and available

By the way has anyone had the pro-drive conversion done to there V8?

They did 90% of what I asked (with Aston's approval) ... I am chasing the last 10%.

I will judge Aston (like I did other marques) by the way they treat me on this 10%

BTW - Gearbox is SO much better, as is the fuel flap that now opens and the door handes that now close. wink
