Hi everyone ! Newbie introducing......... Have been lurking around this forum for a couple of years now, some very interesting discussions. I fell in love with the V8 whilst doing some work at the Gaydon factory! Anyway, I have now taken delivery of a 5 month old V8V in toro red with a very high spec list. Got fed up waiting for a new one, but still have deposit down at another dealer. This is my first Aston Martin, and WOW ! what a car it is! Everything I'd hoped for and a ton more. Bought it from Broughtons in Cheltenham, and I simply cannot speak too highly of them. The service was impeccable, and the car delivered to me as new in every respect. Rachel the sales person I dealt with made the whole experience very special and enjoyable. I have Corvettes and Monaro but this is a whole different league in every respect. Looking forward to a great time with this car! Dave.

Fabulous looking car,congratulations.

I was at Millbrook having my Gt3 "experience" day at the same time as the Aston guys, they had a Vanquish, DB9 & AMV8 on the track & posing outside the front of the hotel afterwards, they looked great, the V8 was the best looking IMO , made me miss minecry

Hey that looks like my car! Toro is a cracking colour, when I collected mine it was in the dealer's car park with lots of V8s and DB9s in various shades of black and grey and there was a group of six people stood round mine. It is an outstanding colour.

No need to insult the poor guy - just because you're missing your V8!

What a f*****g liberty,.... Jeremy Clarkson resembles a wig on stilts, ! You come on here with your German rear engined sports car in your lock up, taking pot shots at a fellow Aston Martin enthusiast, poor chap probably won`t ever recover, what a liberty......!!!

The resemblance has been spotted before ! And we do share a common interest in blowing things up in microwave ovens! Getting on with enjoying the car, have put 800 miles on it now, and loving it. Wish 1st to second was a bit more slick, but otherwise everything is just fine.

You need to be quite "assertive" with it.

Everything I read coming into the fold made me think the gearbox would be awful. But I love it

It's very similar to the Ferrari box I'm used to, but I'd say it's actually a bit more positive.

I can't stand rubbbery vague boxes.

Yep, you are right. I also hate soggy shifts. My V8 does get MUCH better when shes warmed up, and it seems better if you are very "positive" with it ! Many people said the Monaro had a tractor gearshift, but I love it!

Sorry Mikial I missed your post, I see now that your "Porkenstrudle" has gone its "pot shot time"!

Clearly my new "Porkenfunfest" has awoken those old worries that the Aston is some what lacking in the trouser department !!!!

Praise the Lord , I thought I`d gone too far and ruffled your feathers , I know how sensitive Porkenfunfesters can be !!

Funny you mention strides, the leather flares are are looking dated recently and my tailor refuses to make them in tweed , which would be my favoured cloth to compliment the Aston !

Got paid out last week on the Turbo, full invoice price (bought Feb 2006) £64 k, that`s for an 03/03 car Result !!!!

Mikial, That makes a nice change as far as insurance is concerned, now what can we spend the money on..... idea???

That Aston will be getting lonely without some form of Pork to remind it how slow it is !!!

At the risk of being controversial, Why are we discussing the ugliest car on the planet on a forum intended for the most sexy one? I admit that 911s and their myriad of derivatives are marvels of engineering, and are masters of their craft, in a horribly clinical, german sort of way. Lets face it, if it was pure speed etc we were after, a 20 grand kit could see off all of these expensive things !! Dont get me wrong, there was one Pork that made the grade, the 928. Great looks, (cos it was designed by the Corvette team) and a proper engine with the right number of cylinders at the right end of the car!!
Didnt need a Cray supercomputer to keep it in a straight line. And best of all,
it sounded mean, not like a hairdryer with a lolly stick shoved up its whatsit! Hehehe, Cats and pigeons come to mind......
