Hi, Having to make a trip to Eastbourne in the next couple of weeks for a wedding. Fancy taking the Vantage but as I get stressed out about leaving her in 'strange' places, can anyone recommend a decent hotel/country house near to the centre? I really don't want a huge and overcrowded car-park to contend with or, for that matter, have to squeeze between two lines that are more suited to a mini. Anyone know of such a place that would allow me to enjoy the wedding rather than fret about someone putting dinks into the door whilst I'm out for the day?

How about I arrange a visit down that way and look after it for you?

Try the Grand Hotel - AA 5 Star. I'm sure if you call that they will have some helpful suggestions about secure parking and be glad to have an Aston gracing their establishment.

We stayed there a few weekend ago, followed a DB5 in actually. Full Valet parking and they allocate spaces on car type. I'd say The Grand would be perfect for your stay.

Great Champagne cocktails too

Thanks for the offer Sean...hmmm, I somehow think that you may add a few 'unecessary' miles to it

The Grand then...sounds like they might be accommodating....I'll give them a try... beer

edited because I can't spell

The Grand worked out just fine for any of you tempted to take the Aston. Car got prime spot opposite the entrance after a 'reserved' sign for someone else was discarded in favour of housing the Vantage

All positive comments from the staff and to top it all the weather was just glorious.

Recommended and thanks to those who suggested it.

Sean, not even the offer of valet parking on my arrival was enough to get me to release the keys laugh

I know how you feel about hotel car parks, since my previous car ( a 911 996 Cab.Tip ) had a GT3 bodykit on it and the front spoiler was so low I had to drop several French hotels from my annual holiday itinerary because of grounding problems getting through their gates or up their drives. One hotel, though, where the female manager was a 911 owner, always made a point of having several lengths of timber available and these would be put down in the gateway so I could get over a 3 inch step. Now I have an DB7 VV and worry about other things instead like making sure that the proprietor of the "Autre Maison" in Nion remembers to leave his BMW 7 Series out on the road so I can use his garage...the hotel being absolutley wonderful but having no parking at all !!!
