Its rare, fantastic, maybe not as fast as a DBS V8 but surprisingly it is about the cheapest classic Aston you can buy. I won't bore you with the history, if you don't know it you can find it easily enough, but because its perceived as 'slow' nobody seems to want them. Around £22k seems to be the mark for as reasonable one. Which is strange because I would have the classic Aston straight six ahead of the V8 for sound, and what classic car isn't objectively slow by today's standards. I think that the 'original' William Towns designed rectilinear Aston grille is brilliant and due for a comeback.

The vantage will be significantly rarer than the standard car. Any of them would be a fantastic buy provided that it is in genuinely good condition and if not, any Aston will cost your house to restore. Don't go there unless you are seriously loaded.

The DBS 'Six' was used in the Bond film OHMSS and also in 'The Persuaders' though it was in that case dressed up as a V8.

cheers! thumbup
i'll dig out my history of AM book later and read up on it!
it was a great looking car, when i first saw it i thought it was a Jensen Interceptor, but i was pleasantly surprised when i saw it was an Aston! (would have been equally impressed if it was a Jensen too!)
i think it was a Vantage, made a proper barrel chested V8 rumble when it passed us!
wasn't the only Aston i encountered today, was behind a lovely silver DB9 earlier!

DBS Vantage (wire wheels, like the photo) was 6 cylinder. DBS V8 (alloy wheels) was, well, a V8.
