I'm still speechless! My word, what a car. Fuse 22 is in the bin and the noise echoing off the rock face of my local mountain pass is just epic. What a car... what a car. It's better in every respect than I was expecting. In particular the handling and suspension sophistication... it really shows that this car was designed and built in Britain for British roads, which are very similar to our roads here in South Africa.

Sorry, not nearly as artistic or beautiful as Mr. Carters photos!

Great looker Jus , what a pity we all have to have a front number plate , without, the grill is exposed to the betterment of the overall effect .

Is it Titanium, looks fabulous, you are a very lucky chap.

Mikial, you can have UK plates placed below the grill by taking off the plynth if it floats your boat, mine came like that, but I actually had the plynth put back on as I thought it balaced the front end looks better!

Beautiful. Lucky man. I was in your part of the world last Dec. and lost count of the number of times I found myself on simply stunning - and empty - driving roads wishing I was is something a bit better than a hired 4x4! Enjoy.

Thanks folks! Car is indeed Titanium Silver. The interior is Phantom Grey, which is a sort of softer, more subtle charcoal black. Ceiling and pillars are Taylors Grey. Stitching is silver.

Here is a short video clip we made, demonstrating the wonders of Fuse 22

We are able to get a smaller front number plate which is the exact height of the strip on the car and proportionately wide, and then write a letter with a picture to demonstrate why we can only have a smaller plate (obviously bleating about air flow) and have it legalised!

In particular, where I live in the Stellenbosch winelands, we have some of the most epic roads. This is where the new Jag XK was launched, and part of the SLR launch was done, etc.

Franschhoek Pass is perhaps the most legendary... I've quickly picked out some scenery shots to try give the idea. We call it nature's racetrack around here, as it is the most challenging set of tight turns, on- and off-camber bends, up and down, hairpins, sweepers, etc... sort of a local 'Ring, cept there's a cliff on one side of the road and solid rock face on the other!

The government very kindly recently resurfaced the entire stretch of it with the most beautiful, smooth quality tar. Fantastic!

Tell me about it! We stayed in Franschhoek and even in a hired 4x4 the pass was awesome! As I'm sure you know, the building site in the foreground is going to be a developement of villas each in an acre or so of vines and the agent took us up to exactly that view point to look down on the site. Probably going for something on coast instead though. There's a fantastic drive which runs from the coast to Franschhoek were you can stuff yourself silly in any of a number of wonderful resturants for a ludicrously small amount of money before taking a drive over the pass. We were over for a month and my girlfriend got seriously fed up with me saying "I wish I was in the GT3"! Coming over again next Dec. - will seriously consider bringing the V8 Roadster - unless you know someone who will lend me a car? Driving and foodies heaven - again, you are a lucky man!

Bloody marvellous! Well, you won't regret picking up a spot in the vicinity and having a decent car with which to take advantage! Franschhoek is the food and wine capital as well.

You can join me on my regular Sunday pilgramages in my 7, M3 or now the Aston too We often have the odd 'hoon', with a collection of various interesting vehicles and like-minded enthusiasts...

PS: Should you wish to hire something a little more exciting, try www.statusluxuryvehicles.co.za/ -- they have Fezzas and Porkers and the like. Will probably be cheaper just to bring your own car over, though.

Excellent! That's a really good rental contact - thanks. Ok it's pricey but it might be a lot simpler to hire something tasty from them for a few days and then revert to a more ordinary 4x4 for the rest of the holiday rather than go through the hassle (and possible risks) of shipping my car out although I haven't looked into that cost wise etc. yet. Look forward to a possible 'hoon' later in year then.thumbup

My pleasure. Would be great to have the two Astons together, or if you wanted to bring your brass balls along with your GT3... can organise an F430, 996 GT3 Clubsport, 550 Maranello, possibly even a 599 and another 997 GT3, and a few other interesting things to come along and have a go at! Would make one helluva photo shoot in an epic location -- top this, EVO

Quite a few British citizens seem to bring their vehicles here on holiday, particularly Veyrons and Enzos (had quite a few pottering about over the Christmas hols!).

I recall the post when you asked the forum for their views Grant.
