The nearest dealership to me is in Birmingham some 30 miles away, which would be quite a schlep for routine maintenance/warranty niggles etc.

How far away is your dealer, and do they collect your car to repair / service it. Do they collect it on a low loader or send someone to drive it ?

roughly the same and yes they do collect, but my 76 year old father takes it in instead.
Doesn't want to be done out of a drive

Same for me, they can collect in a loader or send someone to collect. Although the drive to my dealer in Chichester, is 30 miles of some of the best roads in the South of England, so I always use it as an excuse to give her a good work out!

I have managed to time collection from my annual service with the Goodwood brekkie club 4th March, www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfastclub/

Of the dealers I have used:

The reading dealer did collect, but only by sending a chap on the train to drive it back

Ian Mason -- no collect facility (*)

RSWilliams -- no collect facility (*)

Strattons -- fabulous large covered trucks. Charge 50p/mile if I remember right

Rikki Cann -- no truck, but is happy to come collect from me.

(*) obviously they can call up a local recovery company at cost.

Cheltenham, and they definately will not collect, but it is a problem when you live out in the sticks and you have your own business, work time is soooo important
