Any reason why I shouldn't get one? It would need to be kept outside until I can sort out the other half of the garage too. It would be about a 2000 model.
Known faults? Water tight?

No reason not to keep it outside really, as far as I have heard the roof is fine.

Ah good news, thank you for that. I have a TVR but kind of assumed that the Aston roof would be slightly more watertight.

I am on my 2nd Vantage Volante that lives outside. No problem with the roof but ensure that the petrol filler area doesn't trap water (keep the whole filler area clean and the outflow unblocked, also park the car so water doesn't run dowwn into the filler area). I have learnt all this to my cost when water got into my petrol tank on my first Vantage Volante. I have also been advised by my Aston guys that this is not an uncommon event.

Ouch.

That is something I will need to bear in mind if we get one then. It is looking quite probable though as I have found two I want, which are Manual...

Manuals the way to go. My first was an auto and to be honest I was disappointed but the manual is a totally different car.

Don't get over concerned about the water issue. Since it was pointed out to me when I put petrol in I make sure there is no standing water in the vicinity of the fuel cap and no bits of leaf etc around the outflow; following this I have had no problems.

Well, I just can't stand Auto cars, so will definately be sourcing a Manual, as I like to have control, and my other two cars are manual so I would dread to think that I might press the wrong pedal and crash.....

Part of my concern is that I am in my early 30s, so not sure if I can pull off driving one, my missus said I need to wait until I am at least 40..

In terms of the water, I am not terribly worried, I guess I will just have to sort out the other side of the garage so she can be put away... I am a little worried about reliability (I know I know, I have a TVR...), but I will source from a dealer so anticipate a decent warranty to be placed on the car which will put my mind at ease.
