I don't know if this has been covered or not so forgive me if it has. I read in Evo regarding teh prodrive options and costs. I think that there must be cheaper alternatives surely. I'm considering buying and second hand vantage but only if I can get it to perform better for a more reasonable cost. Otherwise its either a Porsche or Gallardo!

Have a ferret around these parts - you'll find a fair bit of comment on the Prodrive stuff, some from people who've actually tried the Prodrive car. You'd have to go used 996tt/GT3 or better to get a Porsche that was noticably quicker than the V8 and surely even a used Gallardo would be a fair bit more money? You're getting a lot more than just performance with the Aston of course.

Its that good is it ... I thought several owners of the standard car were disappointed with it. I will have a look on the forum as you suggested

Does anyone know when the Prodrive upgrades will be available? Their web-site does not even list the parts.

Standard V8 is pretty close to a 997S performance wise - but very different in how it goes about it. You need to try them.

Have look around the AMOC site as well, we all waffle on here & on there, I've just waffled big time, but it may help you.... www.amoc.org/forum/index.php?topic=4031.0.

summary 0-100 in 11 secs is fast, as a Subaru STi found out the other day! But the car doesn't "feel" that fast, bottom line is the Aston isn't just about speed & performance,it has a great chassis balance & you are buying a stunning ownership package, my advice is do it, everyone should try one if they are lucky enough to be able to afford one.... if it doesn't float your boat you can always move on to Pork!
