Getting my V8 in four weeks and have to chat with the dealer this weekend on final extra's. I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on paintwork protection. Was seriously considering Armourfend, as I have had that on TVR's and found it effective, but recently saw some criticism. Is a quality sealant like Autoglym just as good in preventing stone chips ?

Can't comment on Autoglym but make sure you get the 'new' mudflaps (that apparently Aston now do). All my stone chips are on the rear wheel arches.

Can the 'mudflaps' (doesn't sound right somehow!) be retro fitted? I washed the car myself at the weekend, now there's no hosepipe ban and noticed a few more stone chips on the rear arches. Anyone know the part number and if they can be fitted at home? (i.e. no drilling etc).

On the AMOC forum there was an extensive discussion on wax. The consensus was for Zaino. I used to use Zymol for all of my cars but was convinced to try Zaino. WOW, it really worked. Brillant shine and not too hard to apply.
A bit pricy but again, you get a good wax.

The stone guards can be retrofitted - no drilling required on 07 models, on 06s I believe you have to drill some holes through the wheelarch liner, easy to do though. They should be about £65 for a pair - they look fine and do the job of protecting the rear arches well IMHO.

Actually Dave, have you got a close up picture of them fitted that you can post? Thanks.
