Hi Any advice would be great.. I am thinking of getting a aston.. Right now i have two Lamborghini's and having just two seats is becoming a problem with time to use them as family takes over.. Can anyone advise the difference and residual value of either aston.. I like the Vanquish as it looks mean also but i read that the gearbox is not as good as the DB9.. Also how is resale on the 2+2..

Thanks

I've not owned either but have spent many hundreds of miles in both a Vanquish S and a DB9 Sport Pack. The Vanquish is an old school bruiser that needs careful handling and plenty of space if you get things wrong. It has plenty of road presence and a truly exquisite engine note but is let down by its interior and the gearbox.

The DB9 Sport Pack, on the other hand, is one of the greatest cars I have ever driven. It's got a proper manual 'box, it's well behaved and civilised when you want and it's a tail-out hooligan when you fancy a bit of fun. Its interior is better than the Vanquish, the engine sounds pretty much the same, the performance is difficult to differentiate and it just looks so damned right. I had a black one and the colour really worked, shrinking the DB9's shape so it looked much more sporting. I'm considering selling some internal organs so I can buy one of these. A stunning car - if you're wondering which one to go for, this is it...

Back seats in Vanquish and DB9 aren't large. Expect a tight fit as the family grows.

Thank you both for the reply.. Ive been to Harwoods in west sussex today and the Vanquish s does look special.. Yes in both cars i did not know how little room there is in the back..Does any one have a babyseat in the back of there's.. I may have to take a trip back up there to see if it will fit becouse im not sure it will.. The Vanquish s is such a nice looking car.

The rapide is supposed to enter production in the near future. If you want a true Aston 4 seater, then you might want to look in that direction.

Mike, I had a Vanquish for a couple of years. You wouldn't even get Douglas Bader in the back of one.

I have a couple of young kids too - we all went out in it once, me and da mrs, one in a baby seat and one four year old. I have only recently come out of traction.

The DB9 is sooo close to a Vanquish in looks and performance, but so much more easy to live with.

If money is no object, get the big daddy!

Decisions, decisions!!
