I put my order in for Vantage Roadster my salesman suggested that I sould spec cruise control as it would be important come resale time. I've had cruise control on every car I've owned but I just never use it. It seems to me when one is a true Piston Head, car buff they are not the kind of person who wants to drive around on auto-pilot. Am I wrong here? If one really likes the car and It's well maintained would they be put off buying it used because no cruise control? IMHO the answere is NO!

Yes & no.
No it wouldn't stop me buying a car at the right price if it didn't have it(hence my V8 doesn't have it!!) but yes I want it & given the choice of two similar cars I'd rather have the one with cruise.
Why a simple answer... speed cameras, the V8 changes speed at the twitch of your foot it isn't stable on the throttle without concentration, one minute you are doing 75 the next 85! I have a GT3 on order with cruise for this very reason, hit a 40mph zone, set it & concentrate on driving rather than the speedo, same thing on motorway driving, set it to 79 mph. of course on your favourite B road, or A road slog you don't need it.
If you are buying new it is only about £300, so why not!

As I just said elsewhere: I just doesn't look good!! And with a car that looks as good as nothing else, I wouldn't want those damn buttons to spoil the looks!!

for me cruise is definately a must, even for UK driving. But it is a personal thing, one mans brilliant is another guys naff!.
Also, if the DSC wakes up it disengages the cruise, which hampers my goal of seeing if i can get the 50miles to work entirely on cruise without touching the accelerator.......

(p.s. anyone else noticed that a Vantages most natural cruise speed is 111mph when the digi speedo is all ones?)(law permiting obviously, lol)

Valetin you are getting a button fixation, next you will worry about the tread pattern on the tyres & do they match the rear valance!
