Aston Martin moving into Russia for the first time in the company’s 94-year history. The Aston Martin dealer franchise has been awarded to Andrey Lomakin and Andrey Boyko who also jointly own A.G. Marine, one of the leading specialists of luxury yachts in Moscow. The new dealership will be located on the prestigious Vozdvizhenka Street and will operate under the name of Aston Martin Moscow.

The signature of Aston Martin’s global dealership programme is elegant showrooms marked by a strong emphasis on design and attention to detail, supported by personalised sales and after-sales service. All these aspects reflect Aston Martin's tradition of craftsmanship and bespoke service. The corporate identity provides a consistency of customer experience which translates the elegance and simplicity of Aston Martin's motorshow displays to the retail showroom.

Aston Martin’s model range comprises the Vanquish S, the DB9 Coupe, the DB9 Volante and the V8 Vantage. Last month the eagerly-awaited V8 Vantage Roadster was unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show. Aston Martin currently has 120 dealers worldwide which will increase to 125 by the end of this year. This year Aston Martin has already expanded into new markets with the opening of Aston Martin Sandton in South Africa. Other new markets will follow next year, including China.

AM sales head Bill Donnelly said: “Aston Martin has carefully monitored the recent growth of Russia’s luxury sports car market. It was vital that we found the right partner who not only understands Aston Martin’s brand values but also the luxury market. We are confident that Andrey Lomakin and Andrey Boyko both have the expertise and knowledge to help us develop Aston Martin in Russia.”

Andrey Lomakin said: “We feel privileged that we have been given the opportunity to represent Aston Martin in Moscow during this exciting time in the company’s history. Andrey and I have a passion for the brand which, combined with our knowledge of the luxury market, will enable us to bring a very personal touch to the business.”

Russians will get their first Aston Martins in May 2007.

Yay

So, we have almost all good cars now... Lotus, Noble, TVR, Caterham and now AM.

Of course russians hate all of them, because they dont know shit about driving involvment and fun.

But hopfully AM's prestige and luxory will prove to be a great success.

It still depresses me that Ford who have really got AM moving and now have a strong and growing presitge brand are SO hard up they have to sell it. Surely there is something else they can ditch whilst still keeping AM, surely!....

It all down to potential. AML is minute in Ford. Jaguar is a load bigger (though still small-fry compared to Ford) in terms of sales, but it's full potential cannot be realised with the AML glass sunroof in place like it is now. Once AM is out the way, Jag will probably move more up-market and unleash the potential that it will need to to succeed.

Good deal for the Russians.
UK delivers AMs to Russia
and Russia delivers Polonium 210
to UK.
Funny!

Jaguar with the best will in the world is not going to fill the gap Aston Martin leaves at Ford, and I say that as a committed Jag enthusiast. It is an asset Ford would be mad to throw away.
