Am I the only one thinking, what kind of speed he must of been doing on such a small residential street to damage the car like that??

In my opinion...about 100-120mph.

think you overstate the speed massively,

80mph max would be my estimation

Not sure I like the look of that front wheel shattering, what would happen if you clipped a curb at speed?

Yuck I feel sick.....It does seem like he/she was speeding in a residential area, he/she has flattened a street light and then impaled the car 3 feet into someone's garden well. I am no expert but this is serious serious speed to do this. I just hope no-one else apart from the driver was hurt! By the looks of the street 50 would have been a stupid speed, but this person looks like they were doing a little more than this. I hate this kind of thing, cos people always say speed was the killer, but as I always maintain in-appropriate speed is the killer!

Did you read the full post or just jump to the wrong conclusion immediately.

I'll add this from the post to save you the bother:

I Quote:

prescott says: Sun 10th Dec 2006, 05:53 PM

I certainly would state that in this instance it is the narrow minded people who have posted their derogatory comments who did not put THEIR brains into action before hitting the keyboard. To put the record straight the driver is a responsible person, who suffered an incident which CAUSED this accident, he is NOT a boy racer, nor indeed is he a prat. I would suggest that instead of jumping to conclusions, you obtain the correct facts first, and in that way you are able to make an informed comment. The driver certainly DID NOT suffer minor injuries, and is currently at Walton Neuro Centre awaiting surgery, I am sure that all his real friends will have him in their thoughts until this dangerous period is over, and hope those who were quick to judge now have time to regret their hasty comments.

End Quote.

No real opinion on it, apart from the obvious conclusions that could be drawn from the pictures, but hey, as mentioned, I know no facts, so will keep to myself.

However, I am definately interested as to what kind of 'incident' could occur at 30mph or less to cause that kind of accident ???

Most of the people here should try reading the thread on the link. It'll stop you appearing like a moron.

there's a thread on PPC forums about it, apparently the man had some kind of seizure whilst driving the car and the result is the collision. Just sounds like a very unfortunate episode to me and not a result of acting the fool. Very sad episode, hope he makes a good recovery

It was very unfortunate indeed that he had a seizure in a very powerful car in a suburban street. The speed involved must have been significant. Thank God no one else was hurt. Hope he makes a full recovery.
