Fun at Snetterton
Discussion
Had a great time on Sunday with the V8 Vantage on a freebee track day with the car.
Unfortunately no pictures, but the car took some serious pounding with no issues, must have completed approx 50 laps of the 2 mile circuit (had to stop as I used a whole tank of fuel!) and only thing to happen was the breaks smoking, no fade at all.
Have to say having come from 2 previous Mercedes-AMG products and taking them on track days, this car is miles better, so much more control. Just wish I had ~450BHP so I could pass cars on the straights a bit easier.
Only downside was that the marshal's recorded 109dB from the pit wall on the straight and asked me to 'use the left hand side' of the track, to keep away from the noise meter.
Managed to pass a few 911's on track too (a C2, and a C4S was that bit harder, but round the long sweeping bend just managed it ) which was pretty cool
So, already looking at an excuse for the next track day!

Did you find the feel through the brakes to change a little after a few laps? I found at silverstone, in a couple of 120 to 60 mph stops that they needed a bit more of a shove the hotter they got, still good retardation but slightly worrying more shove needed. Still fantastic track toy, next summer I am going to be out much more..

Yes, I did notice this, but it did not change a great amount, no more than I would have expected I guess.
What was worrying was my 16 year old Nissan 300ZX that I also took along, and lost ALL brakes on a 120mph stop and nearly wrote off a TVR Tuscan, that was a bit brown pants moment!!!
