They really do have a great level of service and "fun" selection of cars.

Certainly cheaper to buy if you need a car during the week!

Have you tried your local AM dealer? I got an extended test drive that lasted all weekend.

All weekend? so does that work so i can get one for a weekend. I am thinking of buying one so it will be nice to spend couple of days thrashing it around.

Just ask. If you are a genuine buyer then your local AM dealer will oblige. Of course, it will help if you arrive at the dealers premises in a suitable marque and not a robin reliant.

Just back from a 350 mile trip up the Highlands in one. Got it from Rio Prestige nr Edinburgh.
Worth considering wherever you are. Will you get the chance to give it any stick down south?

Just asked my local AM garage which is owned by stratstone. There policy is no extended test drives. I'll just have to buy one!

Adam at Stratstone in Amersham lent me a V8 for the day only three weeks ago - I ended up buying it so perhaps if you ask him, you might fair well - you could always mention me.

Which one is your local amar? Mrs P_N had 3 days with an AMV8 from Birmingham Stratstone, and as mentioned, Amersham are willing as well.

It was Derby AM. I live in nottingham. Even though im seriously going to be buying one soon (can pay cash for it), it would be great to try it out to make sure its for me, but the sales guy said STRATSTONE did not do extended test drives........................hmmmmmmmmm

Will try birmingham see what they say but i got a feeling i'll get the same.

PS. The guy that dealt with me was abit of a T***!

Sounds like a dealer taking a look at you and deciding you arent serious - i assume 1978 is your DOB?

Would say visit another one, ask for a simple test drive, say you have a back problem and would like to take it out a little longer to see how the ride and seats are, and could they accomodate you on this request?

1978 is my D.O.B and yea it has crossed my mind about the age thing, but i don't really class 27 (28 next week) as young........

BERMYANDY i think i'll try what you suggested about back problem. But to be honest i might just take 10-15 test drive, can't be arsed with begging for extended one. Was thinking of the DB9 but just love the shape of the V8 and general comments its awesome car. Hopefully my first aston should be arriving very soon.

Thanks GUYS

Although just to point out - I had one for 2 weeks, but it broke down in 5 days

Starter button decided that instead of turning the engine on, it would just turn everything off. According to the place i got it from, they are the most unreliable marque in their fleet
