To complete my project car I'm looking for a AM V12 engine. I stumbled across a brand new DB9 V12 still crated.

Cause I've made all the necessary preparations for a DB7 V12 I would like to know if there's much differeance between a v12 from a DB7 & DB9?

Another question. The DB9 V12 has all ancilleries except from the ECU(s). Any idea how much they cost? Probably only available at AM due to the MY of the engine?

Thanks

Let's see ... off the top of my head:

Inlet plenums
Camshaft profile
ECU's
Exhaust manifolds (DB7's had EGR whereas I believe DB9 didn't)
The rest of the exhaust system (CATs and beyond)

There may be more I haven't listed.

i've got a low mileage engine to sell with some ancilliaries.
Is this destined for a DB7 or another car? it will be extremely unlikely that you would be able to make it run with the original ecus in another application(not a DB7) as they 1, take information from various sources around the car (and even if you did get it started it would immediately put on the check engine light on)2 the wiring is integrated into the complete car loom and VERY complex
The only answer would be to program an aftermarket management system to do the job(very hard work, very skilled and expensive)
However if it's destined for a DB7 give me a call on 01442 233208 (John Hazzard)

Hallo John ( Hazzard),

How are you ? Long time no see and all that. I'm looking to change my latest 911 for an Aston Martin Vantage Volante and might want an inspection doing on whatever car I eventually choose. I'd pay for the cjeckover, of course, ; up you up for that ?

Drop me an email somtime ( or even a phone call. 01582 467263 ) marlin@spugs.fsnet.co.uk
