1500 miles covered and not a single problem until last night when the dashboard computer went haywire. One minute it advised the traction control was temporarily off, then I needed an emissions service. Then all readings went to zero including speedometer except temperature which went into the red and all manner of other amber warning messages flashed up. Car still drove without a problem for remainder of my journey though.

Will be speaking to my dealer tomorrow (Monday) but anyone had a similar problem? Is this like a normal computer crash where a re-boot is required by the service department or something I can do myself? Having just had its 1000 mile service can't quite believe there is a real problem other than a minor electrics issue.

Any advice appreciated.

I think that PAG are tackling software issues at the moment. I had my Disco serviced the other week and I was having electronic 'suspension management' problems. They told me that there was a major software upgrade to be carried out FOC. No problems since then. What does the dealer say?

Surprised that's happened on the later models. There was a case of the early one's that needed software updates for the said errors. I'm afraid you have to take it to your dealer for a software reset, it can't be done at home.
Mine happened at a similar time, but (touch wood) since then it's be perfik.

Ask your dealer to check for a battery drain somewhere. A low battery is the most common cause of this problem to date and early cars in particular were riddled with all sorts of gremlins that could cause a battery drain (door locks most common). If this is the case rebooting will merely sort the problem short term. Although you may not get an obvious problem, sadly, these cars will not go longer than a week before starting to loose battery performance - use that trickle charger, that's why it's on the options list! And don't expect to leave it at the airport when you swan off on that three week winter break!

Happened to me on Friday - the brake failure light yikes came on saying "stop immediately", and then the emmission light came on too. Very scary, but when I came back to the car today after a trip it's all been fine.
