I spoke to works service today about a switch to do the "fuse 22" job, which he said they would do (not sure about price yet). The chap advised that AM have made up a new sports silencer for the exhaust which is about to be tried out and suggested that I might consider it for my car which is due in about 3 weeks. The sports silencer may not be ready in time however, so they are keeping me advised. It will be lighter that the current system and the tone might be adjustable.

I also asked about connecting an MP3 player. It can be done. They've not done an AMV8, but have done a DB9. It requires making up a control box, wiring this via a modulator into the radio wiring system and removal/replacement of a great deal of interior panelling to do it - the price.......... a cool £1,200 !!!!!

That's approximately 1.5% of the cars price, in comparison, my son opted for a single CD slot in his first car, it was £300, that was 5.1% of the price of his car, stop being such a tight arse hehe

the maths in this users post may be completely wrong, however due to this post being created on a Friday night, when alcohol is freely consumed, this is completely forgiveable

Fair point noggin. I've asked if there are any digital formats which the CD player can read.

The CD player cannot read any digital formats. I am told it is the system from Volvo.
