What a car the V8 Vantage is
Discussion
I've had mine a week tomorrow and love it to bits (black with black and light grey stitching). Booked to go on the rabbit run today which runs next may, any body else going on it ? sounds like top fun + a few other V8's booked on. www.rabbit-run.co.uk

i just spended half of my day driving arround (without Fuse 22) in town harrassing Porsches
Easy tiger, nothing wrong with Stuttgarts finest, if we cross paths and I`m in the Basalt Black 996 tt ( with tubi and a tank full of V-power ) I`ll be-a-lookin for you ,.... mind you if I`m in the V8V I`ll join you and we`ll go Porsche baiting together,
Couldn't agree more - picked mine up this morning. Drove a little cautiously at first (it's been a while since I had so much power under the right foot!). Dealer removed F22 upon request and what a noise. I thought the sleeved exhausts on my old Tuscan was enjoyable but this is something completely different.Took it through Guildford town centre at lunchtime and admiring looks all round.
Now trying to get my head around this Tracker CAT 5 thing and set my mobile up as the authentication device. Could take some time...!

I echo the the statement from the original post, the V8V is my number 1 . After being abroad for 2 weeks and returning to the UK on the 28th September I have now spent the last fortnight driving the Aston. Initially I took the 996 tt out for a refresher, undeniably very fast and so easy , so easy in fact that it takes hardly any skill to be in three figures in ten seconds.
In contrast the V8V is so subtle ( exhaust note excused via pulled fuse 22),it reminds me of a Sunbeam Tiger or a 454 ci Stingray, noise wise , with the handling of a first generation M3, all cars that I have owned in the past.
I also owned a 1975 3 litre Turbo with 260 bhp/260 lb ft torque, at the time a handful but with care and application untouchable on the road and track.
All the above considered gentlemen , all of us who have acquired the V8V have the best there is, accept no substitute. There are faster and vulgar carriages out there that accelerate with more gusto and vehicles that achieve faster times from a to b but none that will look , feel ,excite , cossette the driver and be admired at journeys end like the Vantage.

Yes Shady, you could say that.
A bit too flowery maybe but in my defence I was ever so slightly in my cups .
I am about to go to Long Stratton ( my AM dealer) to inquire if the wheels on the AMV8V N24 are generally available , they are I believe Speedline Corsa`s, 18 x 9 f and 18 x 11 rears.

2 polite suggestions:
1) eurgh! the worst looking wheels ever fitted to a V8, don't do it!
and
2) suggest you wait a few weeks if you are thinking of getting some other wheels for your vantage.
