I have just had a look at the standard AMv8 wheel in the 2007 brochure and it does look rather nice! Do fellow board members feel that 19 inch wheels are an absolute must-have, especially for resale?

Logic dictates that the car will ride, handle and perform better with the smaller and lighter wheels due to the reduction in unsprung weight.

Any opinions?

I apologise for this analogy in advance, but I'm in that sort of mood tonight!

Witness the Weasel, fast, manoeuvrable, but with stubby little legs that look...well frankly a little short & under sized for his body!

Now witness a graceful cheetah, sleek sexy & fast, at rest or in motion, may not be as good at catching rabbits as the Weasel, but boy is it great to look at & plenty fast enough!

Bottom line is.... for the small gain in ride quality & suspension control, you loose large amounts of sleepless nights wishing you had purchased the 19 inchers because the car looks fabulous with them fitted, & a little extra grip doesn't hurt either!

I'm going to nick that and file it away.'fraid you might read that word for word if I ever talk about my wheel choice on a car in the mag. Excellent!

I've told you before....lay of the brandy drink!

Anyway we could come to some suitable licensing agreement....like a look around a certain 997GT3 when it eventually arrives near Evo towers!

Has anyone seen a V8 with 18 inch wheels apart from in the brochure?

I’m sure a few people I was talking to at Le Mans said they didn't have any 18 inch wheels even if you did order them?? It’s been a few months now and I'd had a few drinks so maybe I'm mistaken?

Just had a look at the current brochure and it doesnt even show the 18 inch wheels anymore.

I saw a one with 18" on my factory visit - doesn't look right with 18" wheels – doesn’t fill the arches.

I believe the 19” wheels are now standard on the 2007 model – although list price is up to reflect this.

It's a non-issue, when mine was delivered (April) there was no option, even if you can now get the 18 inch (can you?) you don't want them for resale reasons
