"DB 9" on a DB9
Discussion
I was referring to people who speculate on a future cars name, and buy the numberplate accordingly.....
Still, Aston did make a car called the "2 litre sports", which was re-named the DB1 after they launched the DB2. They only made 19 of them. Very nice, in my opinion. They had the Atom chassis, you know and a Claude Hill-designed engine. Very innovative for 1947...

DB9 is registered on a 2002 E55 Mercedes. The car you followed was probably a factory demo with a show plate of some type. If you want to check the rego number of a car try this site, https://www.hpicheck.com/consumer/vehicleD The factory still retain AMV8 which they have owned since the early 1970's and is now on a new AMV8 Vantage.

Probably cost more than the car!!
Back in the eighties we owned the number XJ 8.
Sold it after a while because I never dreamed that Jaguar would ever bring out an XJ8 model. Durrrr!
Incidently, DB 9 is registered to a Mercedes E55. So, it looks like the Aston was running on false plates.
DB 5 is on an Aston Martin DB5 though!

The plot thickens, the guy was giving it some(and I mean SOME) and I kept up with him, we parted company at a motorway junction, looked over to give a wave but no response. Now it looks like it was on false plates but is there a AM dealer anwhere just south of Preston?
How accurate is that HPI check? Is there a lag of a month or so on the DVLA database?

Neither as pretty as the DB Mark 3.
