After having an AMV8 as a loan car whilst my 997 was being resprayed I totally fell in love with it and placed the order this morning... Just heard this morning that the respray is delayed and so I'll have to hang on to the loan AMV8 for another week... What a shame..!!

Delivery being quoted as end-Jan/early-Feb. Dealer was refreshingly honest and suggested I go for a 2007 car as they'll be introducing some mods based on the lessons learnt on 2005/06 cars.

Yet to go through specs but most likely Titanium silver, blue brake calipers, blue leather with silver stitch and all the toys...

Also, a quick question for existing owners. Mentioned to dealer that I pulled Fuse 22 (love the effect..) and he warned that it invalidates the warranty and could cause engine problems (something to do with engine back pressure). Is this correct - am I taking a risk? Any reported problems?

Welcome to the PH V8 Club , these are getting more comon than beemers now

They get a bit funny at the factory about 'fuse22', mainly because they think it may well have more than one use than jsut operating the valve hose.
I was in the same boat and just opted to get me pipes done permantently....

Love it, it's only really loud when you gun it, so you can still drive around discretely if you need, but with the pipes fully open you get the lovely roar at about 2000rpm.

What spec have you plumped for ?

Funny that...

Was driving home on Wed night through Shepherds Bush and just finished saying to the wife how nice it was to drive an exclusive car.. Looked in the rearview mirror and there was another AMV8 behind me..!!

This morning, again through Shepherds Bush was another AMV8 at the lights in front of me (although French plates..). Think they should reduce production...!!

Yet to finalise spec but my loan car has the 19in wheels (a must), sat nav, power mirrors, park assist, upgrade sound system, so will most likely follow the same route. Anything else recommended? Only 'bespoke' request I'll be making is to remove the silly mirror from the driver's side sun visor... The visor is pretty useless anyway but staring at yourself whilst driving is just plain daft.. Also will be trying to source an alternative key/remote combo. The standard is blatantly from a Mondeo with a AM badge on it (must do better..).

Let us know how you fare on this issue. Would like to do the same if possible, the Mercedes system is OK.
Also how do you "rent" a AMV8V?

Definitely get the bluetooth option - that's definitely been more handy than the sat nav.
If it's going to be driven occasionally, get the battery conditioner.

Jeb.... congratulations. Titanium & blue, great choice...SNAP!
I found this link for you, which lists all the 2007MY changes/options & has good pictures of the new seats. thought this may help with your final spec choice!!!
http://whatwouldjoedrive.blogspot.com

Also cut & pasted this useful information from the AMOC site, so doersn't look like major changes, just more options!..............................
- Full leather now standard (cloth will now never be an option I believe)
- Vehicle Tracking System now standard (UK only) - note this is not the Tracker Horizon currently offered but a different model of tracker.
- Memory seats are now an option
- Auto-dimming rear view mirror is now an option
- Garage door opener is now an option
- The seats have changed style (I've seen a pic, look OK, not as nice as original IMO - still Recaro I believe. The blurb says 'new design of seat offering a sporty, lightweight look') - standard
- Head thorax side airbag now standard
- The seat heating is now dual stage (guess there was only 1 heat setting before??) - still an option
- Twin lumbar adjustment (two separate lumbar adjustments in front seats) - standard
- High level electric seat release (improve access to area behind front seats) - standard
- Occupant Classification Sensing (OCS) (Automatic switching for passenger airbag. Not with passenger seat height adjustment)
- 19" alloy wheels with painted anthracite finish now an option (have seen a pic, look nice I think)
- Sports tyres (Pirelli P-Zero Corsa) are now an option (only on 19" wheels)
- Front stone guards (read mudflaps) are now an option
- LED's in external door handles (illuminate to indicate position of door handle when entering car) - standard (not seen a pic of this yet though)
- Key fob boot release (boot pops open when boot unlock button is pressed twice) - standard
- Revised battery disconnect switch functionality (battery reconnected when key in ignition (no need for separate re-connect switch))
I believe the UK price for model year 2007 build cars will be around £82800 or so

With regard to spec, I think sat nav may well becoming standard for 2007 MY?
In addition to what you have mentioned, HID's are a useful extra, as is Tracker & getting your botty warmed on a winters day is worth abash as well! Incidentally the standard stereo is far better than I thought it would be, give it proper try, could save some cash!

I also like the std stereo. (Bass end a little boomy, but a good sound thoughout the rest of the range). It's better than the 12 speaker Porker kit I had.

I've heard the standard stereo and it does sound pretty good, but after having the premium in my V8 i have to say that it's worth every penny. Of all the options, this is not the one to skip.
